Some of you I’ve met already, others I hope to do so in due course! Those of you who read Classic American will already know that I spent an incredible week out in the States recently getting some exclusive seat-time in the ZR1 Corvette, the CTS-V Cadillac, and the new Camaro SS. Whilst I was there I had a brief chance to get some shots with all three cars, and seeing as though both Jason and Vinny (AMCI) were kind enough to let me have their club shirts, I thought it would be the least I could do was take them with me and get a shot of me wearing them with all the cars. I hope you approve. The ZR1 is the best car I’ve ever driven (….that includes a Veyron), the CTS-V is the fastest point-to-point saloon car money can buy, and the Camaro…….just look at it! In fact, the Camaro was the most fun in a way because it sounds AMAZING at any speed, whereas the Vette and the Caddy are quiet…until you go to full throttle. Like most of you I still much prefer my older stuff, but that fact that America is turning-out some of the best and fastest cars in the world is great news. Just you wait until the next person tries to tell me that the Americans can’t build cars! Anyway I’d better get back to writing-up the ZR1 feature for the mag’. It looks unlikely that we’ll make it over to Eire this year, sadly, but if any of you make it over to the UK for a show, please come along and say ‘hi’! Have a great summer, Andy |
